Slide Transfer
Let us transfer your slides to DVD. We know your slides can never be replaced so we treat them with extreme care. Before we begin your job, each slide is examined for loose dirt or fingerprints, if any prints or loose debris is found, they are removed. However, if your slides have stuck on dirt, we do not attempt to clean it. Doing so could scratch your slides. Instead, we use software like Adobe Photoshop in the post process to safely remove as much of the mark left as possible on the scanned image. Before scanning, your slides are again cleaned with low pressure air to remove any dust left on them. Then they are scanned at a very high resolution of 4000 dpi using digital ICE technology. ICE digitally removes any dust in the scan that may have been left on the slide. The scanned image will be as close to drum scan as possible without the very high cost of drum scanning. After scanning, all pictures will be examined for proper white balance. Many of your slides will need a white balance correction. I will perform this myself manually until the picture looks it's best. This correction is critical to your slides looking their best (Examples below). Other shops say they have color correction, but most of them use an automatic method like ROC or GEN or other automatic
After we complete the work, all your slides will be returned. You will receive your scanned slides as uncompressed TIFF files on DVD. This is your digital equivalent of the original slide. You will also receive a CD with standard JPEG files for printing your slide images online or stores like Walmart, etc. I can optionally make an inexpensive slide show to view your slides using a DVD player.
We charge $1.80 per slide to do all the work detailed on this page. If you don't want us to color correct your slides then please contact us for an estimate.
